Course itinerary
Choosing to take an Arabic course in Cairo, Egypt is the best way to accelerate your learning experience. Immerse yourself in local culture and understand the unique character of the surrounding region, helping you progress rapidly with your new found language skills in your free time.
You will be taught by highly qualified native Arabic speakers who have a passion for teaching and use tested teaching techniques.
Lessons are highly interactive and you will speak Arabic from day 1, both inside and outside of the classroom. Combining the main language skills of speaking, reading, and writing, each day will see your confidence increasing.

- Please note, if you are a beginner, we recommend you book at least a 4 week Arabic course as your first 2 weeks in the MSA part of the course are spent learning the alphabet therefore 2 weeks for beginners is not recommended, to see more course durations click on this link Arabic courses

Arabic Course Start Days
- Classes start on Sundays and run on selected dates throughout the year
- Please note that level tests are taken on Sunday just before your course starts
Arabic Class Schedule
- Classes are from 9am-2:30pm, with a half-hour break at 11am
- Beginners start the day half an hour earlier to learn Arabic script
- Classes run daily from Sunday-Thursday each week
- You will have 2 group classes per day, which are 2 and 3 hours respectively
What Will I Learn?
-In this special combined Arabic course, you’ll study both the spoken and written aspects of Arabic
-In the morning, you’ll learn to speak the language in Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA). In the afternoon, you’ll learn how to read and write in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)
- Beginners are recommended to book 3 weeks or longer as the first 2 weeks are spent learning the alphabet
Egyptian Colloquial Arabic ECA (9-11am)
- ECA is the spoken language of Egypt and the most widely understood dialect of the Arab world
- The aim of this Arabic course is to give you a sufficient understanding of ECA to accomplish everyday tasks and, as you improve, hold conversations with native Arabic speakers
- You'll also gain a working knowledge of Arabic script during these Arabic lessons
- Please note that beginners will start half an hour earlier in the morning, at no extra charge, in order to learn this script
Modern Standard Arabic MSA (11:30am-2:30pm)
- MSA is the written component of Arabic and is developed from Classical Arabic - the language of the Quran
- MSA is also the language used in newspapers and all other media so learning to read and write in your MSA classes will enable you to follow current day-to-day events in the Middle East and North Africa
Free Time In Cairo
- After your Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) class in the afternoon, you’ll be free to explore the sights, sounds and smells of Cairo, and beyond...
- For an additional charge, the school organizes weekend trips to the Pyramids, the City of Alexandria, Khan el-Khalili (Cairo’s biggest market) and boat trips on the River Nile
Arabic Level Test
- Please arrive at the school between 9:30am-1pm on the 1st day of your course (Sunday) to take a short level test and complete registration
- You do not need to take a language level test if you are a complete beginner
- This test will assess your understanding of the language and will help the course organisers place you in the right group class for your level
Other Information
- We recommend that you bring a small dictionary with you
Compulsory Extras - TextBooks
- Please note that the Egyptian Colloquial Arabic textbook is not included in the price and costs approximately €24; you will be able to purchase this on your first day at the Arabic language school
- The Modern Standard Arabic textbook, however, is included in the price (except for advanced levels, where the textbook costs €45)

- The school offers an airport greeting service for an additional charge; you can book this service during the booking process
Accommodation In Cairo
- This school operates a small on-site residence for students, which is located above the school, more information can be seen under the 'Course Overview' tab
- All rooms are on request and are often in high demand; to request a room, please email your dates and requirements to hello@golearnto.com but we do recommend you book at least 6 months in advance to secure a room as they sell out quickly
- Alternatively, if you would like to stay in a hotel during your time in Cairo, there are a host of hotel options with special rates for language students ranging from €22-55 per night; to find out more and request a room, please email us
- If you are planning on staying for a longer period and would like to stay in a shared apartment with other language students we recommend that you use their search service on arrival at the school; please note that all students who want an apartment normally book a hotel for their first few nights and on arrival at the school on Sunday (your first day of the course) the language school will help you to find a flat or a shared apartment with other students - you will be charged a €35 search and agency fee for this service
- As a guide apartment prices range from €200-350 per month depending on the number of rooms; please note that in the high season of July and August rents are higher and you must be prepared to pay at least an extra €100 per month - these prices DO NOT include bills and most landlords will ask you for a one month deposit
- Apartments are fully furnished and include TVs, telephones, fridges, stoves, washing machines and air conditioning
